About Jody

Jody White has been teaching and playing professionally in northern Rhode Island and southern Massachusetts for 25 years. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Rhode Island College with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance, she has played professionally all over the area, including performances with the Rhode Island Philharmonic, New Bedford Symphony, Theatre by the Sea, the Zeiterion Theater, Cabot Street Playhouse, City Nights Dinner Theater, and with scores of small brass groups. Most recently, Jody was heard in the pit orchestra for Theatre by the Sea's production of "The Producers". She was also a long-time member of the American Band and served on their executive board.

Jody is currently a brass clinician at Woonsocket High School and has organized and directed brass ensembles at Scituate High School and Mount Saint Charles Academy. She also teaches private lessons at Mount Saint Charles Academy, Scituate High School, East Providence High School, and Rick's Musical Instruments. She is a member of the Rhode Island Music Educators Association and the Music Educators National Conference, and has been involved with revising the Allstate audition requirements in Rhode Island. Many of Jody's students have achieved top rankings at the Rhode Island Allstate festival and at the Massachusetts Central District and Allstate festivals, as well as achieving principal positions in the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensemble and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Jody is especially proud to have had 19 students accepted to the RIMEA Allstate and Honors ensembles for the 2008-2009 school year.
